Our mission is to help our clients achieve long-term recovery, move on from feelings of shame, and learn how to live a fulfilled life.

Our experience has been that once our clients arrive at Tharros House, they understand and feel the benefits. You are not locked in to any long term agreements, but we do ask that you come planning to stay for at least 60 days. After your initial period at Tharros, you may wish to explore our less structured home, Teras. If you’ve completed a program like this, you’re probably feeling very good about your recovery, as you should.

We also include fun social events, like our weekly BBQ and bowling nights. Clients also learn life skills through one on one mentoring and fun events, like cooking with exceptional private chefs! Also included, our community offers activities, like weekend rock climbing, golf, and basketball. On Saturdays, clients can participate in engagement activities, like trampoline dodgeball, go-kart racing, and escape room challenges.

At Tharros House, we take a custom approach to each client, starting with a full understanding of each client’s needs and goals. Our team connects with each client’s clinical providers to help understand what supports are needed before he arrives at Tharros. Tharros House approaches recovery by looking at both abstinence and your life satisfaction/ happiness. We employ the tenants of positive psychology to help identify what areas of your life will benefit the most from your attention, ultimately helping you achieve your goals and a life that you look forward to living! Tharros house has a great number of resources and we can refer you to therapists, programs, and licensed professionals as needed. Our program isn’t cookie ­cutter? we want to get to know you and help ensure that you have what is necessary for you to achieve your goals. That’s why we encourage our clients to consider staying 6 months to one year. Tharros House provides supportive housing for people in recovery from addiction. We encourage you to keep what works and add resources where it will benefit your recovery. There are no referral fees and our vetted licensed professionals accept a variety of insurances. We have the sole goal of connecting you with the providers who will help you the most -­ Period. ?When you arrive at the house, you will undergo an initial discussion and orientation with the Program Director, including a dialogue on the past events that led you here.

SLH’s provide an environment for individuals capable of handling a fair amount of autonomy and wish to take personal responsibility for their recovery. At Teras, clients work with their on-site case manager and our vocational coach to develop a recovery fellowship and engage work. Clients of Teras may also be involved in outpatient treatment while they develop a foundation in their recovery work, and apply to work positions. After 30 days, clients are expected to be employed while they continue progress in their recovery work. They continue to meet with their case manager weekly and participate in community support activities. Teras is located two miles away from Tharros (both Tharros and Teras are in Lexington MA).

ABOUT THARROS HOUSE- MENS RECOVERY HOME

At Tharros House, we want to help you achieve your life goals and long­-term sobriety with the tools and foundation you’ve already acquired. Leaving a residential, inpatient, or outpatient treatment environment is often more challenging than expected. You’ve changed, but the people, places, and things around you haven’t.

We fit in between what you’d find at a clinical extended care program and very supportive recovery home. Each individual is supported to make his own choices in his recovery. Tharros offers an extensive and flexible peer support program to helps clients navigate important changes and decisions. Our team provides support to ongoing clinical work as part of that process. Not all sober living homes are the same and tharros house in fact beyond the differences in “amenities”, there are many other important factors to consider. The road to recovery from alcoholism and addiction requires significant emotional, behavioral, and intellectual changes.

This less structured residence is designed to support clients when they have 25+ hours of work or other outside structure weekly, which can be developed with assistance from our team, in the first 30 days. If you have many outside commitments, or are ready to return to work, Teras can be a good entry point directly from treatment. For others, after 1-6 months at Tharros, clients may choose to transition to Teras. This facility provides recovery services for individuals seeking support.

At Tharros House, you can expect to meet other male residents who are committed to their sobriety, have completed some form of primary treatment, and pass regular unannounced breathalyzer and urine tests. Our community offers extensive structure, much of which is optional. Peer to peer support is an essential component of recovery and The Tharros House only accepts residents who have made a commitment to giving recovery a chance; we work together as a community to overcome the challenges in early recovery. The ability to spend 6 months to a year in a supportive environment allows you to learn more about yourself and your addiction. Our support program will afford you support while you mend relationships with family and friends. We know that you can have more fun and a much better life in sobriety; we also know that you’re having a hard time believing that statement right now.

Teras, also located in Lexington MA, offers a less structured, but still supportive model of high standards sober living. With 24/7 management and support, we can help you find an appropriate job, connect with the recovery community through volunteer opportunities and activities, find the right treatment resources, and build a foundation in sobriety. Teras, our flexible structure home, offers a lower cost model for those ready to return to work, and who have their own transportation. Tharros House, located steps away from the center of Lexington, spans 4 levels with almost 8000 square feet of living space.
